The air finally has a chill to it, everything has pumpkin spice flavoring for some reason, and everyone else already has their Halloween decorations up: fall is back! Here is an overview of some steps to take to prepare your Cadillac for the fall weather.

You’ll find everything you need for Cadillac service at Zeigler Cadillac of Lincolnwood.

Check Your Brakes, Tires and Lights

The road conditions are about to change, and your brakes and tires had better be up to the task. You should get the brakes and tires checked and serviced as necessary. While you’re at it, check every outside and inside light, test the bulbs, and make sure they’re clean.

Wiper Blades, Battery, Oil and Air Filter

A summer of limited use have probably worn out your wiper blades. Cracked and dull blades can limit visibility, which is dangerous. Swap them out and while you’re at, check your battery’s health. Have your oil and air filters replaced as well, no matter what your mileage is. You’ll need everything in working order during the cold months.

Fluid Changes, A/C and Heater

Have all your engine fluids checked and changed, from oil to the transmission fluid. Meanwhile, have your heater and air conditioning checked and serviced. You’ll need the heater, but you’ll also want to defroster working to keep your windshield clear, along with such features as your heated steering wheel.

Cleaning and Detailing

Finally, give your new Cadillac vehicle a thorough wash and have it detailed. Consider this a symbolic act of transition from one season to the next. It also makes any new problems easier to spot.
